Running Accomplishments:

Wow, I've been running for a long time.  I was a sprinter/hurdler in highschool and college. Then went on to run some road races.  Over the past few years I have switched over to triathlon, but still do an occasional road race and would like to do a marathon and qualify for Boston.  I completed my first half iron-man last summer, winning my age group, and have another coming up in July.  My best 400mH race was 63 seconds, the open 400m 58, 200 26sec., mile 6:03, 5K-19:20, 1/2 marathon 1:40. and my most recent Olympic distance tri in 2:40:01

Short-Term Running Goals:

Vineman 70.3 - 1/2 Ironman July 2011, SOMA 1/2 Ironman Octboer 2011, Tucson Marathon in December 2011 and Ironman AZ 2012.  And hopefully it will be Boston....here I come.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Run and be fit til the end and raise my beautiful daughter to do the same!

Personal:

Very happily married with one amazing daughter and two older step kids.  I work full time and then some...so getting in workouts and juggling life can get hectic...but life is good.  Sleep is overated anyway...right?

Wow, last few months have been crazy.  In and out of physical therapy...which really hasn't been a bad thing.  Made me stronger in the hips and glutes...which is great.  I'm into my last two high volume weeks then a taper week, then race day.  I can't wait.  Little nervous.  Haven't done too many bike to run bricks...but at least I know how it feels.

Today I ran a 15 min w/u followed by 4x1mile with 2:15-3:00 active rest then a 22 min c/d.  Run went well.  Felt good to run a little faster again.  With the hip and IT I haven't been running hard....I've just been making the distance.  So I ran 6:45, 6:52, 6:33, 6:48.  The second and fourth were at a slight uphill.

Then I drove to the gym and was in the pool by 0640 hours and swam 5x500=2500.  Felt tired first 500, but settled in after that.  Didn't refule during workout, so I was starving when I finished and headed to the snack bar for a Ying/Yang shake with protein and extra coconut.   YUM!

Been feeling wiped out....Ran 55 on treadmill...crazy slow then hit the stairmaster for 30 minutes.  Head wasn't in it.

Slept in this a.m.  Between the heat, monthly girl crap....and week after week on increasing everything...I needed a down week.  Wasn't planned but I took it and needed it.
